Nike NSRL Series

Nike NSRL Series, turning the information about how people run, into cutting edge innovative apparel.

The Nike Sports Research Lab originally started in 1980, in response to the running boom of the late ‘70s. Formed to fully understand the needs of runners in order to make the best footwear and apparel for them. As a nod to Nikes co-founder and original researcher Bill Bowerman, the lab continues to deliver technical understandings that help drive sport innovations across Nike.

Fast forward to 2021, this collection in the NSRL series focuses on cold weather running. The collection has been based on data from the Nike Run Club app, alongside running crews around the world and the World Headquarters lab. From this data a pattern emerged showing runners challenges: temperature regulation and visibility in low light. NSRL Series tackle these challenges head first.

Hours have been spent analysing, breaking down and discovering all of the fine details in an athletes performance. However the relationship between athletes and products can be complex, and requires more than just data to solve. What Nike does with the data and turning it into knowledge has helped shape this collection.

The collection includes a GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ Transform Jacket, Aurora bomber, a men and women’s pant, a women’s tight and layering tops. The winter season is still very much here, and for runners who are still bracing the cold, or those that are unsure how to layer effectively, this NSRL series is for them.

The full collection is set to launch on February 10 via Nike. And we cannot wait to try it for a full review!
